State to file reply on JSEB chief in SC on May 12

The State Government will place its reply in connection with the chairman of the Jharkhand State Electricity Board (JSEB) before the Supreme Court on May 12.
On May 1, the Supreme Court had stayed the quashing of the appointment of JSEB chairperson HB Lal.
Governor Syed Sibtey Razi has asked the Energy department to wait for his order to reconstitute the JSEB. Senior lawyers will represent the State Government to explain its opinion before the apex court.
A high-level meeting took place at Raj Bhawan in which the advisors of Governors — G Krishnan and Sunila Basant — advocate general PK Prasad, chief secretary AK Basu, Energy department Secretary NN Pandey, Principal Secretary to Governor Sudhir Tripathy and OSD Avinash Kumar were present.
The Governor will preside over divisional-level meeting to take stock of the developmental projects from May 6. As per the scheduled high-level commissionery meetings, Razi will chair a meeting in Jamshedpur (May 6), Dhanbad (May 8), Daltonganj (May 11) and Dumka (May 14).
The commissioners and other senior officials have been asked to be present in the meeting. Razi is expected to review the developmental projects, especially availability of drinking water, roads, electricity conditions, implementation of NREGA, public distribution system and other welfare schemes for the low income groups.
