Under the garb of making Punjab power surplus, the SAD-BJP Government has set up three thermal power plants in the private sector. The Mukerian thermal plant, envisaged in the public sector, exists on papers only. Lopsided policy favouring the private sector has led to no jobs for locals and abnormal increase in the power tariff.
