PSEB Engineers Association mourns the death of N.S. Vasant Ex- Chairman of Punjab State Electricity Board .

Vasant was a great visionary, he first put the ailing Guru Nanak Dev Thermal Plant Bhatinda back on rails and then executed the super Thermal Plant at Ropar in record time. He then conceptualized the Lehra Mohabbat Thermal Plants and the work on stage-I started during his tenure. The Mukerian, Anandpur Sahib and other mini hydel projects were also commissioned during his tenure.

Vasant also laid great emphasis on strengthening the transmission and sub-transmission network for adequate power evacuation from the upcoming generation projects.

Vasant shall always be remembered by power engineers as a technocrat who led the sector to great heights with his vision, zeal and inspirational leadership. His tenure can be truly regarded as golden period as far as PSEB is concerned.

The state shall always remain indebted to this great power engineer and he shall forever remain a role model for the power engineers of not only Punjab but the whole country.

The bhog ceremony of N S Vasant shall be held at Vasant Vihar New Delhi on Saturday.
