UP Power Corporation employees given revised pay scales

LUCKHNOW: The Uttar Pardesh government gave its final nod to the revision of wages for UP Power Corporation Limited employees in accordance with 6th pay commission from January 2006.

The detailed order for the revision of pay scales was issued last night. The arrears would be given to the employees in four installments spreading over a period of four years. The revised House Rent Allowance, Dearness Allowance would be given with effect from December 2008.

The engineers have been placed in pay band 3 and 4 respectively. The pay band 3 starts from 15600-39100. The pay band 4 starts from 37400-67000.The grade pay has been depending upon the post held by the engineer.

The issue of revised wages for UPPCL employees had become contentious in the beginning of this year with the employees, officials and engineers going on a work boycott. The issue was resolved after a meeting with state power minister last month. Shaliender Dubey convener of joint action committee said that there are deviations in grade pay from the agreed grade pay for Chief Engineer .He said that they will take up the matter with state government regarding deviations made while issuing circular from the agreed pay scales.
