In present times a large no of payments are being made in electronic transfer mode. Young and old, every body is using internet etc to do transactions in everyday life. Similar to normal routine matters EMDs against tenders could also be considered to be paid through modern techniques. This will not only save a lot of time and manpower but also shall be foolproof from delays in deposition of DDs by the tender receiving offices. For this a special EMD account could be created. Bidders may be asked to transfer EMD amount in the same account from their places wherever they are located. System could be customised in a way that identity of the tenderer is not disclosed but a transaction no is generated which could used for further reference regrading the party who has deposited the money in respect of EMD. The receipt of the bank deposit sent by the bidder with tender could be considered as EMD after getting confirmation from the account handling office through e-mail. To keep the secrecy about rates/tender amount EMD amount may be fixed for respective tenders.
