ENGINEERS TO PROTEST BBMB CHIEF’S EXTENSION
The power engineers in Haryana have threatened to launch a stir against the state government's decision of granting extension to the Bhakra-Beas Management Board (BBMB) chief engineer beyond superannuation.
Members of the Haryana Power Engineers' Association and Haryana Power Generation Engineers' Association held a joint emergency meeting on Wednesday and decided to wear black badges from June 25 to 29 to protest the one-year extension granted to BBMB chief engineer (transmission).
The engineers held a meeting on Wednesday at Panipat thermal plant and urged the government to reconsider the case and cancel the chief engineer's extension, who is on the Haryana Power Generation Corporation Limited cadre post beyond superannuation. The members decided to intensify agitation after June 29 if the extension was not cancelled. Association president RS Dahiya said the government had forced the power engineers to protest.
