CHANDIGARH: The power engineers in Haryana have decided to agitate against the decision of Haryana Government to grant extension to BBMB Chief Engineer beyond superannuation.
Haryana Power Engineers Association and Haryana Power generation Engineers Association held joint emergency meeting and decided to wear black badges from June 25 to 29 to protest the one year extension granted to Chief Engineer /Transmission BBMB.
Haryana Power Engineers Association and Haryana Power generation Engineers Association held joint emergency meeting and decided to wear black badges from June 25 to 29 to protest the one year extension granted to Chief Engineer /Transmission BBMB.
The power engineer held a gate meeting today at Panipat thermal plant and requested the government to reconsider the case and cancel the extension case of Chief Engineer /Transmission BBMB who is on HPGCL cadre post, beyond superannuation. The meeting decided to intensify the agitation in case extension order was not cancelled.
R S Dahiya President of Association said that Government has forced the power engineers to adopt agitation path. Executive committee was surprised at the recommendations of BBMB Chairman for one year extension in service that has poor service record.
Dahiya said Uttar Haryana Bidhyut Vitran Nigam (UHBVN) has not recommended the extension case and mentioned “There is no provision in the rules for extension in service beyond the age of superannuation of 58 years”. However keeping in view the recommendation forwarded by the Chairman BBMB, Chief Minister approved the extension in service to Chief Engineer UHBVN on deputation to BBMB for a period of one year.
The executive committee strongly condemned the appointment of junior level officers at newly created post of Additional MD of Dakshin Haryana Bidhyut Vitran Nigam. The Association requests Haryana Govt. to review the decision in order to avoid further resentment. DHBVN should be at least headed by Commissioner level officer with proper engineering qualification.
Dahiya said that restructuring of Discoms for engineers and workers was kept on hold due to financial crunch in utilities, whereas extra post have been created to adjust some officers. This indicates that the Haryana government intends to demoralize the serving Power Utility Engineers and does not want to improve the working of utilities.
