Power engineers seek review of extension to BBMB Chief Engineer

PANIPAT: Haryana Power Engineers Association has requested the Haryana Government to reconsider and cancel its decision to the extension granted to V K Gupta Chief Engineer Transmission BBMB beyond superannuation.

Haryana Power engineers are shocked on one year extension given to present Chief Engineer Transmission who is to retire on June 30. V K Gupta Chief Engineer is from UHBVN cadre. The power utilizes Management has already written to Haryana Govt. that extension of services on cadre post beyond superannuation will result in stagnation of all power engineers & this extension to V.K Gupta after superannuation is not recommended.

The post of Chief Engineer/ transmission in BBMB is from share Quota of Haryana which is fill up only on recommended of Haryana Power Utilities Management.

Haryana Government has ignored the recommendation of its own Power Utilities Management and considered the recommendation of BBMB Chairman only. This decision has demoralized the power engineers & utility management also.

R. S. Dahiya President, of Haryana Power Engineers Association said that it has been the main demand of Association that no officers of Power Utilities be given extension beyond superannuation as it blocks the carrier of other officers who are due for promotion. This extension has forced the power engineers to go adopt the path of agitation.

Dahiya alleged that the during the tenure V.K. Gupta one BBMB truck full of cement & steel without any document was caught by Jagadhari Police which was going to under construction residence of officer at Naraingarh.

Engineers are surprised at the recommendations of BBMB Chairman for one year extension in service that has poor service record. He was responsible for damage to one 150 MVA Power transformer at 400 KV substation Bhiwani , one Shunt reactor at 400 KV Panipat & one OLTC damage at 400 KV Bhiwani giving a loss to 10 crore to BBMB.
