The power engineers in Haryana are perturbed over proposed extension/ re-employment to two retiring engineers and delay in reinstatement of suspended engineers.
HARYANA POWER Generation Engineers Association will agitate against extensions awarded to retiring engineers and suspensions of engineers. R K Jangra President of Association said that the association is fully opposed to the extension to anyone beyond superannuation.
The matter was discussed by Haryana engineers with Power Minister in August last year and he agreed with our demand and promised to look into the matter. The government continues to grant extensions or re-employment to a person for favoring these individuals. This denies a chance of promotion to working engineers, which causes heart burning, besides affecting the efficiency and moral of serving engineers.
The Association has already criticized the suspension of three engineers working at Yamuna Nagar thermal plant without any fault. Director Thermal had suspended Executive Engineer and Assistant Executive engineer working in boiler maintenance division due to recent boiler leakages allegedly for his extension. One Executive Engineer who was suspended in September last year when unit was forced to shut down due to high vibrations in turbine.
The Association is of the firm view that all the major breakdowns at Yamuna Nagar are due to inferior Chinese equipment. It may be mentioned that final taking over of Yamuna Nagar thermal is still pending though units are on commercial operation for last two to three years.
In case of unit 2 turbine rotors have been sent to Baroda for repair after 4 months and likely date of start of unit cannot be predicted now. The departmental enquiry report had cleared the thermal engineers against any deficiency in working.
The association demands immediate reinstatement of all the suspended engineers of HPGCL and not to allow any extensions to retiring engineers in form or other.
