Terming the boiler leakage a phenomen beyond human control, HPGCL engineers have demanded the reinstatement of suspended engineers while condemning the action taken against them without any solid grounds. They have claimed that management's 'irresponsible action' will severely damage the good performance of organisation.
THE THERMAL engineers in Haryana today held protest meetings at all the three thermal plants to protest against suspension of their two colleagues on flimsy grounds. Haryana Power Generation Corporation Limited (HPGCL) suspended Executive Engineer and Assistant Executive engineer working in boiler maintenance at Yamunanagar thermal plant due to recent two tube leakages in boiler of unit 1.
Hardeep Sangwan, General Secretary of Haryana Power Generation Engineers Association condemned the suspensions of two engineers Rajesh Arora, Xen and Sarvjeet Kumar, AEE working at Yamunanagar thermal plant due to boiler tube leakage, which is a very normal phenomenon and is beyond human control. The action taken by the management is highly irresponsible and damaging to the good performance of the organization, Kumar alleged.
It may be mentioned that one Executive engineer Himanshu Gupta is already under suspension and is also being victimized for the failure of Chinese design & technology. The enquiry committee constituted for the incidence has concluded that it was not a human error but system failure unit-II at Yamunanagar. The rotor has now been sent for repair. The unit is under shut down since September 25 last and it will take another 4 months to start again.
All the HPGCL engineers feel demoralised and harassed due to such type of actions and victimization of the working engineers without any fault. It is matter of great shame that such actions are being proposed by Director/Generation, who is well aware of the fact that tube leakage in boiler is normal. They feel that it is a phenomenon for which no one can be held responsible.
Moreover the Director is still sticking to the post beyond his superannuation age of 58 years just to enjoy the facilities of the departments without any useful contribution to the organization, they alleged. Haryana Power Generation Engineers Association has demanded immediate reinstatement of all the suspended engineers of HPGCL in best interest of utility as well as state of Haryana
