YAMUNANAGAR:
One of the units of Deen Bandhu Chottu Ram Thermal Power Project (DCRTPP) here is lying shut for the past 98 days and there seems no chance for its revival in the near future.
With the closure of plant, the state is incurring loss of 72 lakh units of power daily.

Two units of 300 MW each were inaugurated by chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda in November 2007.

The entire machinery was imported from China. On September 25, 2011, one 300 MW unit was shut due to problem of high vibrations in the turbine. The authorities contacted the suppliers of the machine, Shanghai Electric Company, and two teams visited the plant in October and November but failed to repair the snag. The Chinese teams confirmed that there was a bend in the rotor and it will have to be taken to China for repair, which is very time-consuming and costly affair.
