Panipat

There was partial grid failure at Panipat thermal due to foggy conditions asits 4 units tripped leading to loss of 920MW power. .

According to official sources the four thermal units of 2nd. Stage Panipat thermal plant tripped today at 12.15 AM today leading to blackout in parts of Haryana .The state had to resort to heavy over drawl of power from northern grid to meet the power shortages.

It may be mentioned that unit 6 and 8 of Panipat thermal plant tripped last night due to ID fan problem and jerk in system around 10.30 PM .However when unit were revived around midnight the grid failed at 00.15 AM leading to tripping of unit no. 5,6,7 & 8 units .

It may be mentioned that 600 MW unit of Khedar thermal is under scheduled maintenance of 15 days and 300 MW unit at Yamunanagar is under breakdown for the last two and half months .Today states own generation is 1270 MW.

Today Haryana was drawing more than 1000 Mw from the grid to meet the power shortage in the state. The power demand in state is more than 1023 lakh units while supply is around 898 lakh units.
