Haryana power engineers calls general house meeing

The Haryana power engineers are Preturbed over the delay to settle the issues power engineers have called general house meeting to discuss their problems.
HARYANA POWER Engineers Association is perturbed over the delay in solving their long pending demands and general house meeting has been called at Panipat on November 1.

Share RS Dahiya president of Association said that the pay anomalies of engineers working in Discoms are still pending whereas other utilities HPGCL and HVPN have removed anomalies to some extent. Regarding restructuring of Discoms the matter has been deferred in view of critical financial position of Discoms.

It was agreed by the power minister in the last meeting that appointment to the post of Directors in utilities shall be from serving engineer having at least one year of pending service before retirement. At present there are four vacant posts of Directors in power utilities. The issue of upgradation of senior most chief engineers to Engineer in Chief is also hanging fire.

Talking about financial health of Discoms he said as on March 31 this year the total losses were Rs. 7,100 crore and outstanding loan was Rs. 15,268 crore. The defaulting amount from rural areas was 2100 crore and the amount was increasing due to lack of political will. The sincere officers are hounded out at the behest of influential people.

Regarding generating stations the Chinese units are facing turbine vibration problems and boiler leakage problem.
