Haryana Power engineers demand restructuring of discoms

Rohtak: Haryana Power Engineers Association (HPEA) demanded the restructuring of discoms at the earliest at all the creations of post. HPEA congratulated Mahender Partap Singh on becomingPower Minister and assured their positive co-operation and sincerity towards the goal of maximum and quality supply to the consumers.

R S Dahiya President of Association said that there is a great vacuum of power engineers in all the utilities as more than 50% of sanctioned posts are lying vacant especially at the lowest level.

The association demands that the same should be filled on immediate basis to ensure quality services to the consumers. He further said that in number of cases promotions are being denied to theengineers on flimsy grounds and denial in promotion is causing a huge demoralization of the fraternity.

SS Yadav General Secretary of Association said that SDOs at the entry level in pay band PB 2 whereas other states have placed their Group ‘A’ Entry level officers in PB-3 andthe association expects that state government and the anomaly committee would do the justice to the engineers.

Yadav further said that eight engineers have been placed under suspension at Panipat on account of fictitious and flimsy grounds. He demanded that all the engineers should be reinstated immediately to maintain conducive atmosphere in the utilities.

A number of engineers are holding current duty charge without any regular promotion for the last so many years. All such engineers should be promoted and regularized on priority basis.

The executive committee showed its concern towards posting of very Junior level of administrative officers in the management Whereas the department is absolutely technical in its working.

The association urges the Govt. to post senior officers with professional qualification at this level so that a better understanding can be developed between the management andengineers.

The association condemns the behavior of public representatives who normally misbehave with engineers and threaten them to get their work done.
