It demanded that the government should speed up the process of restructuring of DISCOMs so that working of power utilities could be improved. The association said that effective measures should be taken to fill the sanctioned posts of AEs and JEs that have been lying vacant since long.
The association stated that promotion of deserving engineers was being held up on several grounds which had demoralisation the fraternity. The engineers should not be denied their right to promotion.
Besides, the anomalies in the pay scales of AE’s should be removed. Reinstatement of engineers at Panipat who were placed under suspension was also demanded.
The committee also showed concern over posting of junior-level administrative officers in the management, whereas, the department was absolutely technical in its working.
