MSEB staffers go on strike

MUMBAI: Power distribution in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region and across the state, barring Mumbai city, might be affected from Tuesday with more

than 1 lakh employees of the distribution, transmission and generation arms of the MSEB resorting to an indefinite strike.

Their decision to go on strike came late on Tuesday night after talks between their 30 unions and the state over a demand for 60% hike in salary did not yield any amicable solution.

"The state offered a mere 22% hike. This is injustice and we will go ona strike," said a union leader.
