State seeks coal for two upcoming projects
PATIALA: Officials from the Punjab government have met their counterparts from the union government to seek coal for upcoming power projects. A delegation comprising Punjab chief secretary Rakesh Singh, power secretary Anirudh Tiwari and Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) director (generation) GS Chhabra met union coal ministry secretary Alok Perti on Tuesday and took up the issue of coal linkage for producing 1,980 MW at Talwandi Sabo and and 1,320 MW at the thermal plant in Rajpura.
PSPCL chairman KD Chaudhary told HT that PSPCL is aiming to start these plants before 2014. He said that the Centre has given the assurance that all power projects would be provided coal linkage as per their plant load factor
