Ludhiana:
After the unbundling of the Punjab State Electricity Board (PSEB), the work culture has improved a lot. It is heading towards ‘corporate’ culture and with this drastic improvement Powercom has started showing positive results. These were the remarks of Powercom Central Engineer P S Gill today afternoon. Gill admitted that employees had a laid back attitude earlier but now things had changed for the better. Gill added, “Still lot needs to be done at the bottom as employees need to be told that things are not the ‘same’ now. Their performance is being monitored closely.”
Gill further added that Ludhiana Central Division has planned revamping of power infrastructure in the city and for this they have got sanctions worth Rs 484 crore for these projects. These projects will be undertaken under Revised Accelerated Power Development and Reform Progrrame (RAPDRP) of the Central government, but all projects will be outsourced and will be completed in three years. “Outsourcing is the need of the hour,” said Gill. However, employees are objecting to the mass outsourcing.
