PATIALA: PSEB Engineers Association has decided to wear black badges as a protest against the callous attitude of the management towards improving the working condition of the engineers.
HS Bedi President of Association said that PSEB management discussed and agreed many issues six month back but has still not been resolved despite repeated assurances of the management.
PSEB management has shown utter disregard to the laid down policies of the Board in giving further extension in service to a superannuated engineer who is working as Advisor, system operation for the last more than two years. The obsession of the management with this advisor is baffling the engineering community and is an indicator towards whole business of power purchase. The management is openly defying the policy of the Punjab Govt. of not granting extension to superannuated employees. The Association was invited for a meeting with management but the meeting was cancelled at last minutes.
Bhupinder Singh General Secretary of Association in a press note said that promotions of the engineers especially from AE to AEE and from AEE to Sr.Xen have not been made for last five to six months.
The association shall hold regional protest meetings followed by zonal protest meetings from 15th Dec. onwards. Black badges shall be worn by engineers on 10th Dec. and in case of strike by the employees, engineers shall perform their normal duties only.
