PSEB Engineers' Association strongly condemn the policy of the Board to give re-employment to superannuated engineers and demand immediate removal of all Advisors/ superannuated engineers employed by the Board.

A General Body Meeting of PSEB Engineers' Association was held at Guru Teg Bahadur Hall, Punjabi University, Patiala on 30.09.2008. This meeting was attended by over 1,200 PSEB Engineers coming from all nooks and corners of the state of Punjab. S. Parkash Singh Badal Chief Minister Punjab holding power portfolio was the Chief Guest. The meeting was also attended by S. H.S.Bains Media Advisor to the CM Punjab, Sh.Suresh Kumar Principal Secretary/Power, Sh.Y.S.Ratra Chairman PSEB, leaders of All India Power Engineers' Federation and Northern India Power Engineers' Federation.

PSEB Engineers Association strongly opposes the failed model of reforms being suggested by PHD Chamber to Punjab government for the Power Sector of the State. Although Association is for introducing reforms in the power sector to provide reliable supply to consumers at affordable rates but are opposed to the borrowed concepts of unbundling and privatization being the panacea of all the ills of the power sector. These concepts were introduced in the power sector in early 1990’s to attract private investment but failed miserably forcing the central government to support the sector through various schemes.

PSEB Engineers’ Association challenge the statement of SAD general secretary S. Prem S. Chandumajra appearing in a section of the press that T&D losses in PSEB are more than 30% and unbundling of the Board was inevitable because PSEB is in red.
